Voice of Fieldays speaks up

Park in the wrong place at Fieldays and MC Big J Barrack will tell you about it.

Mr  Barrack is the voice of Fieldays.

After accepting the public announcing job last year, Mr. Barrack is enjoying his second experience of the Fieldays.

“I get a detailed timetable, and it says everything that needs to be said. I put on my professional radio voice and do the job,” he said.

Mr Barrack starts at 6am and finishes nearly 12 hours later.

A lot of the announcements are from the Fieldays sponsors, or to notify the public about the major events that happen at Fieldays.

But Mr Barrack has a few announcements that make him smile.

The competition to the Cook Islands is his favourite announcement.

“All you have to do is fill out the survey, that’s awesome!”

But the one that makes him laugh is the towing warning when people park in the wrong place.

“I love doing towing announcements, because I put on the most serious voice that you could ever think of, like your worst high school teacher.

“That has been the most entertaining so far, because the response to the announcements has been amazing,” he said.

Overall, Mr Barrack is enjoying the experience at the voice of Fieldays.

“I really enjoy it, and I think I’ll be back again next year.”
