Just before the Holy Month of Ramdan started in April 2021, local tech champion (and all-round mover and shaker), Jannat Maqbool, accepted an invitation to speak to Media Communication students at Wintec.
Jannat spoke generously about her journey to Islamic faith, and what this means for her daily life, and at special times like Ramadan.
Following this, the group and tutor Cate Prestidge, were privileged to visit Jannat’s home to spend time with a group of her friends, eat some delicious halal food and conduct their first ever interviews.
The women represented a cross section of the Muslim community, from different countries and backgrounds. Here are some of their stories.
