Writing’s on the wall
An interactive art exhibition at Wintec’s Ramp Gallery grows on the walls around you while you are there.

An art exhibition with a difference, Mind Map grows on the walls around you while you are there.
On at Wintec’s Ramp Gallery, it is a collaborative student project that started with the word “Hamilton”.
A mind map is a visual brainstorm that allows words and ideas to be connected to one another.
Alix Rogerson, a Wintec graduate who is transcribing it from paper to the gallery walls, thinks it gives a visual output of the way that people think.
“It shows the way people make connections with words.

“I think it is always interesting when you do projects that are collaborative. You don’t see them that often, especially when they are this collaborative. You might see a couple of artists working together or something but not a huge body of students.”
Students are invited to go in and add to the map.
Jazmin Bennett, a first year visual art student, thinks the project is “really cool”.
“It is a good way to see how people’s minds work.”
There has been no formal opening of the exhibition, but a closing will take place when the walls are full.
Exhibition open: March 26 to April 5 (Monday to Friday 12-4pm)
Gallery event evening: Tuesday 3 April – 5-7pm.
