Smartphone App: TuneIn Radio
TuneIn Radio is shaping up to be the next “must have” app.
I have been a bit slow when it comes to smart phone applications.
New ones pop up every week and they are becoming more and more addictive.
I’ve had Angry Birds, Draw Something, and the latest photo sharing craze, Instagram. But none of these can stand up to the app I downloaded last night.
TuneIn Radio is available from Google Play and allows you to listen to radio stations from around the world for free.
With more than 10,000 downloads, TuneIn Radio is shaping up to be the next “must have” app.
There are a few downsides. As expected, the app does eat your battery rather quickly, and I struggled picking up smaller local radio stations.
These are not major though, and so far I have not had any problems picking up stations from New Zealand.
My next test is to see whether or not I can listen to Fearn Cotton on BBC Radio 1.
