New Zealand may miss out on powerful Nissan Juke-R
A small Nissan has beaten a number of super cars at a Dubai racetrack – causing a YouTube sensation.
Nissan New Zealand have no plans to import the pocket rocket Nissan Juke-R that has a huge youtube following after it beat a number of supercars in a staged race in Dubai.
The Juke-R has been lighting up car enthusiasts faces the past week after Nissan posted videos of the 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V-6 powered car blitzing supercars in a closed street circuit.
The YouTube marketing video of the Juke-R beating a Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and a Ferrari 458 reached a staggering 2.3 millionviews in days.
As more and more car companies explore the ‘small car’ market, Nissan seem to be shaking things up a bit by creating the extreme pocket rocket.
Nissan have announced that only limited amounts of their wild Juke-R will go into production but Nissan New Zealand will only offer the regular Juke in New Zealand showrooms.
According to Nissan New Zealand’s, Paul Sherley, the Juke-R was a custom-build.
“While we have no ‘official’ details on availability and pricing, I would expect the price to be very high given the car’s exclusivity and technical attributes,” Sherley said.
The Juke-R is the brain-child of Nissan Europe and RML, and combines the funky hatch styling of the standard Juke with the extreme monster performance and additives of the GT-R.
The Juke-R is said to be able to achieve 0-100km/h in just over three seconds and can manage 545bhp with 459-torques.
There have been a lot of rumours about proposed offers and possible production for the car after its appearances on YouTube however, according to Nissan, only three orders have been placed.
No price has yet been confirmed by Nissan for the Juke-R. However customers will probably be looking at a similar price to the GT-R, which is at the thick end of $180,000.
