Prime Minister John Key has been taking photographs with fans and mingling with the rural crowd at Fieldays.

The Prime Minister has attended New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays every year for the last eight years.

This year he jokingly says he may purchase a ute.

“I don’t know I have only just arrived but I might buy a ute or something, you never know.”

Key likes to visit all of the different sites and said the innovations are a favourite.

He said he likes to see what the farmers were doing.

“The conditions are really good on the farm at the moment,” Key said.
