With injury and sickness plaguing many of our boot camp pack, only two of us were left standing for week five.

I was quite apprehensive about what our trainer Rachel Dombroski might do with the two of us.

But when I arrived I was excited to see a pair of boxing gloves and focus pads lying around.

Being a keen (but unskilled) boxer I welcomed the break from grave diggers and tornadoes.

Rachel took us through a variation of boxing combos, throwing in a few old favourites; squats and burpies, just for good measure.

By the end of the session my punches were basically just my arm flapping around in the general direction of the focus pad.

I apologise to Rachel for any wayward punches.

Thursday was much like the notorious card game, but with dice determining our workout.

The numbers 2-12 each represented a fun/painful exercise.

Last week I wrote that I wanted to be able to do a clap between my press-ups.

Sitting at number 12 was five clap press-ups. Note to self; be careful what you wish for.

Thank god I didn’t roll that scary number 12, because I am fairly certain that my face would have gotten friendly with the floor.

Looking ahead to week six and our final fitness tests, I hope to have improved in each of the areas. Even by just a smidge.
