Chiefs beach Sharks in final thrashing
Reporter Shannon Rolfe captures the buzz around the Chiefs’ final victory
For the Chiefs it was to be the night that crowned all nights – they won the Super Rugby trophy for the first time in 17 years.
Waikato Stadium was predictably full with cheering supporters who braved the rain to support their team.
In the first quarter the chiefs struggled to get past the wave of Sharks but quickly turned the game around after the break.
A hammering 37-6 was the final score; fireworks, confetti and the ecstatic team bought the night to a victorious end.
