Fringe: The Vegas Horror Show
From the first stunt, which involved Andre Vegas placing his victim in a box and sawing her in half then making a stack of the two boxes, with both her head and feet moving, he had the audience in awe and disbelief.
The Vegas Horror Show was at the Meteor for one night only as part of the Hamilton Fringe Festival.
The show had horror, not to mention a little bit of guts, comedy, a guy dressed up as a freaky looking clown and audience participation.
Every time they would ask for volunteers I hoped they would not pick me, there is no way I was getting up there.
Luckily I had picked a good seat, in the middle and as far away from the aisle as possible.
One fortunate lady agreed to have her head put into a guillotine and was even given a bucket in case her bladder decided to let go.
But she seemed calm the whole way through the stunt, and the bucket went unneeded.
The best act involved Vegas locking himself in a box while standing up and his assistant Stellar embedding her arm into his chest and out the other side, only to complain about the blood.
She then climbed through his chest head first, which was met with gobsmacked faces from the audience.
The evening was a little marred by a technical glitch that carried on all night. Stage crew could not seem to get the music working and instead we were treated to the heavy breathing of Andre while he was setting up.
I was left feeling a little sceptical about how everything worked and surprised that this all had just happened before my eyes.
