Chiefs in unconvincing win
There’s room for improvement, but the Chiefs got back on track with a win at Waikato Stadium last night.
With an unconvincing 22-16 victory over the Rebels at Waikato Stadium last night the Chiefs finally held their ground after three games without a win.
Chiefs first-five eighth Gareth Anscombe did well replacing Aaron Cruden and had a strong game with his penalty kicking.
But poor decisions by the Rebels’ coaches and on the field by captain Scott Higginbotham contributed to the visitors’ loss.
Chiefs coach Dave Rennie admitted after the match that his side had made some mistakes and said there was room for improvement. He told the media that he had a “great belief in taking responsibility”.
The Chiefs take on the Crusaders next weekend at Waikato Stadium with hopefully an improved team.
