Chiefs score much-needed win
The Chiefs bought their A-game to Friday night’s home game against the Hurricanes, winning 24-9.
Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett will be disappointed by his team’s loss to the Chiefs on Friday night with this match possibly being his last. The Hurricanes have a bye next week.
The Chiefs bought their A-game with a 24-9 win at Waikato Stadium.
Some mistakes were made, but the performance showed that they have a credible chance at winning three championships in a row.
First five eighth Aaron Cruden kicked well, with four penalties in the first 40mins.
Chiefs coach Dave Rennie spoke after the game about how his team could have scored more.
“We probably should have won by more and potentially could have got four tries,” he said.
Three streakers disturbed the game during the second half, to the boos of the crowd as they were walked off the field.
The Chiefs head to Eden Park next week to face the Blues.
