Nano technology with big impact
Fuel economy can be improved and emissions reduced. US Airforce technology hits Fieldays.
Nano technology improves fuel economy, as showcased in a first-time Fieldays stall.
NanoFusion International director Clive Brown said the fuel additive was produced by the US Airforce.
“The hydro-carbon chain is shortened and attracts oxygen, so the fuel is more prepared for combustion and burns more fully and efficiently,” Brown said.
It also has potential to reduce pollution if used in mass.
“It’s a catalyst that actually changes the molecules in the fuel,” Brown said. “It reduces emissions by 80% because of its lubricating qualities. And it increases fuel economy by 10-15%.”
He said he first decided to show the product at Fieldays because of the market potential.
“We come to Fieldays because it’s an international event and it gives us the greatest exposure to introduce this product,” Brown said.
Fieldays visitor Colin King said he was interested in finding out more about the product.
A 500ml bottle costs $90 and can be added to 2500L of fuel.
“Sounds all right. It would have been good if I discovered it 15 years ago when I had my logging trucks,” King said.
But he thought he might still have a use for it.
“We have go diesel utes and things like that. So I’m happy to have a chat and see what it’s all about,” King said.
The stall will be in the pavilion at Fieldays until Saturday.
