King of Island Pop to perform in Hamilton
“I’m telling you, man, it’s about to be lit.” King of Island Pop, Iyaz, is coming to Hamilton for one New Zealand show.
While it’s true Auckland normally gets all the concerts, this Friday it’s Hamilton’s turn.
Virgin Island singer-songwriter and dancer Iyaz is performing at The Outback, a popular Hamilton nightclub, on July 21.
“We are stoked to announce 3x Platinum R&B/Island Pop recording artist from the British Virgin Islands – the King of Island Pop, Iyaz,” a spokesperson from The Outback said.
This will be Iyaz’s first and only show in New Zealand. He is currently touring in Australia and is taking a day out to perform here.
His set will include official tour DJ Lopez with support from Mai FM’s DJ Sir Vere.
Iyaz, real name Keidran Jones, is signed to the record label Beluga Heights Records and is known for his singles ‘Replay’, ‘Solo’ and ‘Pretty Girls’.
In a video posted to The Outback’s Facebook page the King of Island Pop encouraged people to “come out and turn up with your kid, cos I’m telling you, man, it’s about to be lit”.
The Outback is a popular club for big guests including The Feelers, Peking Duk, Jackass and the cast of Geordie Shore including Charlotte Crosby and Gary Beadle.
The first wave of tickets for the R18 show sold out in just two hours but there are still tickets left from Ticket Fairy. Tickets will also be available at the door.
VIP tickets are also available and include complimentary drinks, a professional photo with Iyaz and a chance to hang out with the man himself on the stage.
