Jason Naylor ‘connects the dots’ at Spark Week 2018.
There’s no such thing as an over-night success…
This year at Spark Week Jason Naylor, a man of multiple talents, impressed students with tales about his journey and how it got him to where he is today.
Between 2001 and 2010 Naylor worked for many different employers within the IT industry.
Naylor discovered his passion for photography in 2010 and established himself as a wedding photographer.
Naylor and his wife, Aneta, became business partners and within a few short years their business became a booming success.
Struggling to balance his work and social life, Naylor was diagnosed with depression. This obviously put a strain on his photography business and further made it near impossible to give his clients 100 percent.
For Naylor, anything less was simply not good enough. So he decided to put his love and energy into something else and embarked on his most recent project, Breaking Art: The podcast.
Here, Naylor simply set up a small studio in his beloved Combi where he records everything for his podcast.
Throughout his speech Naylor often made a reference to the quote ‘over night success.’
Naylor does not believe in ‘over night success’ and this is evident throughout his personal journey.
With Naylor’s diagnosis and further, the multiple changes in his pathway, it is obvious that Naylor’s success story is developed over many years.
A good friend of mine, Amber Hamilton, also attended Naylor’s Speech. I asked her what she thought of his story.
“I am so inspired by Jason’s journey. It is obvious that at some stages of his life, Jason was very uncertain of where he would end up. I always thought being uncertain was a bad thing.. but now I can see it’s not. Jason has given me the courage to be creative and explore new things.”
