One exhibitor impressed the crowds at the Fieldays  so much they sold the roof over their heads  on day one.

Horotiu-based company Kiwi Timber Building Supplies Ltd set up their exhibit in a 3-bay shed  and were a little taken aback when it  sold for $10,000 on the first day, right off the lot.

Kiwi Timber also displayed several half-round animal shelters, their trademark KiwiLock fencing, and custom-made gates.

As suppliers of construction timber, they sell wood  sourced from local sawmills.

“Fieldays is a really good opportunity for us to get our name out in public and make it more recognised,” said managing director Drew Ridley.

“We always compete well with our opposition, and look at ways to run our business more efficiently and eco-friendly, by embracing technology, minimising paper waste, and recycling broken timber.”

Sales representative Ryan House said the Fieldays was a great chance to interact with potential customers and he was pleased with the company’s performance at the Mystery Creek event.

“Being a small business helps us really build a good relationship with each customer, so we are more than just the guys who sold them a shed.

“We can look after all their requirements going forward as well if they need fencing, landscaping products, or any other timber and hardware.”

The company sees itslef as a one-stop shop, even handling building consents for their customers.

The company supports the Kiwi Encounter at Rotorua wildlife and nature park, Rainbow Springs.
