Fieldays’ ice cream heaven
There’s a little bit of Denmark at Fieldays, to the delight of hungry punters.
Danish Delight is fuelling the Fieldays crowd with its freshly baked waffle cone ice creams.
The big cone comes with whipped cream and chocolate or strawberry sauce on top, and one visitor was lapping it up.
“You get the delicious ice cream taste but you also get a waffle cone with cream and toppings. It’s like you’re in ice cream heaven,” said Jeff, 46, who ordered two “delights” for him and his wife. Asked if it’s a little too cold outside for ice cream he shakes his head.
“It’s better if it’s not too hot so your scoops won’t melt fast.”

Friendly ice cream seller Amy said Danish Delight always has been a family business and the founder Mike, who is originally from England, must have had the idea for the waffle cones when he travelled to Copenhagen. He is back home in Europe to enjoys his retirement and his son Jonny runs the family business now.
The Danish delight crew have been coming from Auckland to the Fieldays every year for the past 25 years. Their trailer is located at the Food Court One surrounded by the Agribusiness Area.
