Fieldays celebrates 55th year this June

Fieldays, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural event, is celebrating its 55th year with a return to its traditional winter calendar.

The event runs from from June 14-17 and tickets are on sale now. Over 1,000 exhibitors will be on site at Mystery Creek showcasing the latest in agricultural farming equipment, technology, innovation and agri-services.

Peter Nation, CEO of Fieldays said “We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to Fieldays in June. After the challenges of the past few years and more recently the adverse weather events, we are looking forward to bringing everyone together to reconnect and regroup.”

From the first Fieldays in 1968 held at Te Rapa Racecourse in Hamilton, there has been a lot of change and growth over the last 55 years.  Nation says “it’s a pretty amazing milestone and one that we don’t take for granted.”

The Fieldays Hubs will once again feature strongly with the Hauora Taiwhenua Health and Wellbeing Hub, Opportunity Grows Here careers hub, Forestry Hub and the Fieldays Digital Futures all returning for 2023.

Crowd favourites like the tractor pull, excavator and fencing competitions will also feature strongly.

The 2023 event will see the launch of the Fieldays Sustainability Hub in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). The theme is The Time to Act is Now.  This includes a number of sustainability-focused organisations and a sustainability trail throughout the site, where people can visit exhibitors highlighting their sustainability practices.
