It appears farmers like coffee – over 3000 cups are sold at Fieldays each year.

For all the farmers needing their caffeine hit there are 23 Nomad espresso carts located around Fieldays.

There is no shortage of people lining up outside the carts for fresh coffee, with worker Evan Delautour predicting they had already sold 400 cups of coffee by 10 am.

“We arrived here this morning at 6.30 am and we had customers within 10 minutes.”

This is the 11th year the Auckland based cafe has been coming to Fieldays and owner Pete Allpress says the customer base has definitely expanded over this time.

Delautour predicts they will go through 12 to 16 kilos of coffee beans each day over the duration of Fieldays.

With Nomad’s standard price of $4 a cup, Delautour says although coffee prices have risen in the last year their prices have not changed.

“The price of coffee beans has gone up, but our prices have remained the same as last year.”

Allpress said they love the frenzy that Fieldays brings and because they realise their customers do not want
to stand in line, all they sell is coffee.

“We provide our customers with great coffee quickly and with good service.”

Delautour said so far flat whites have proven the most popular with the farmers – and they haven’t had any bad feedback.
