Skycity Breakers to play at Claudelands Arena

League champions Skycity Breakers will slam Hamilton’s Claudelands Arena for the only North Island pre-season game on September 15.

League champions Skycity Breakers will slam Hamilton’s Claudelands Arena for the only North Island pre-season game on September 15.

The pre-season game at Claudelands Arena will be against the  Wollongong Hawks who finished two from the bottom in the 2011/12 NBL series.

The Breakers visit to Hamilton will include the full line up of stars including Tom Abercrombie, CJ Bruton and Dillon Boucher.

Skycity Breakers General Manager, Richard Clarke said the Hamilton match  would be the final pre-season game before the new campaign and is an important build up for the season.

“We are delighted to be returning to Claudelands Arena…We see this venue as one of New Zealand’s finest and we know the team has a huge fan base in the Waikato region,” Clarke said.

Breakers point guard, CJ Bruton said the design of the arena brings the fans right up close to the action.

“We always get an awesome welcome from the Hamilton fans, plus the court is great,” Bruton said.

Given the  sell-out games earlier this year, tickets for the Claudelands contest will be in high demand.

Claudelands Director of Business Development and Marketing, Murray Jeffrey said they are proud and excited to welcome the Breakers back to Claudelands Arena for another trans-Tasman face off.

“The last match proved the level of demand in the Waikato for events of this calibre, and with the strong local support for basketball and the Breakers, we are expecting tickets to sell out,” Jeffrey said.

Hamilton sports fans once again have the chance to witness a world class performance from one of New Zealand’s finest sports teams.
