Women flock to lifestyle expo

Thousands of women tested, tasted and spent money at the Women’s Lifestyle Expo held at Claudelands Events Centre at the weekend.

From childcare to what you should wear, the Claudelands Event Centre played host at the weekend to the Women’s Lifestyle Expo, which showcased a wide variety of products and services for women.

An estimated 10,000 women, and the occasional male, walked through the doors and into a sea of stalls to taste, try and look at products that would entice any female.

Among  the vendors was infomercial queen Suzanne Paul, who demonstrated the use of the “Rolls Royce of ironing systems.”

“I don’t make commercials for products unless I use it myself. It’s hard to convince people when you don’t believe in it,” she said.

Hamilton was the latest stop in the  expo that is being taken throughout New Zealand.

Among the attractions was an array of cocktail and wine stands that provided free taste testers and saw some women fascinated, especially by one new product that allows people to have frozen wine.

Salvare Estate Limited representative Steve Nathan had a horde of women standing by his stall interested in learning  how to freeze wine in the comfort of their own homes, in just six hours.

“If someone gives you a bottle you don’t like you can turn it into wine cocktails,” he said.

With special ‘expo weekend only’ prices, and little freebies to tempt visitors into trying something new, the expo was full of prize draws and treatments that would satisfy any woman.
