Irish companies fly to Fieldays

A couple of Irish companies have flown across the world to showcase their products to a more productive market.

Dooley Bros and Brennan Fencing are two Irish companies here for Fieldays for the first time.

In the country since Saturday, owner of Brennan Fencing, Joe Brennan said he has loved New Zealand so far.

“The people are very friendly. The land is similar to Ireland but with little differences.”

Brennan heard Fieldays was the “show to go to”, so has travelled across the world to showcase his company’s fence-post drivers.

“As both farmers and fencing contractors ourselves we have a unique insight.”

Brennan hopes to export fence post drivers in New Zealand.

He said his post drivers are nothing like anything on the market at the moment.

The company also sells everything to do with fencing, hence the name.

As the northern hemisphere is in recession, Brennan said he wanted to find international exports, perhaps at Fieldays.

“Fieldays is impressive and well laid out,” he said.

The Brennan fencing website has sold two machines to New Zealand already and has one wholesaler in the south island.

Fieldays is similar to the main exhibition in Ireland, which is their national ploughing championships.

Brennan hopes to be back in New Zealand for Fieldays next year.

Another Irish company, Dooley Bros Trailers, is also here for the first time.

The owner Joe Dooley said his trailers were “more product for the same amount of money.”

The company manufactures a broad range of trailers, mainly agricultural.

Dooley said he wanted to look at the New Zealand market.

He has had already enquiries from “Irish guys” in New Zealand wanting his trailers.

Both companies are located in the Enterprise Ireland stand.
