They are a four-man relay team and each has a different discipline.

The relay starts with Kyle from Rotorua and his chainsaw, second is an underhand chop done by Shane from Stratford, third is Aucklander Jason with the single-saw cross cut and last is Adam, from Hokitika on the standing block.

They came second last year and Jason said they are all looking to go back there and take it out.
Best time was 47 seconds  last year and they looking to go faster this time.

Jason Wynyard is the TIMBERSPORTS champion and said the team is really lucky STIHL has got us all together here.

“We live all over the country so it is kind of hard to get together and run through the relay.

“Getting together as a team is really important before we go away to try and maximise our chances overseas.”

“We have a good team and are hoping for a good result.”

Jason will be doing demonstrations every day.

Every year STIHL sponsors the Festival of Logging.

New Zealand has the highest ownership of chainsaws per person in the world.
