Ted is a movie that you probably should not take your kids to see. It is rude, crude and takes swings at everything from Taylor Lautner to Ryan Reynolds.

Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis provide plenty of laughs as well as a bit of romance thrown into the mix, while Seth MacFarlane provides the hilarious voice for Ted and does so without sounding like Peter Griffin.

There are some cameos from various Hollywood actors but the ones that really stand out are Giovanni Ribisi and Sam J Jones – most famous for his role as Flash Gordon.

Patrick Stewart provides the narration and plenty of laughs, including one of the most outrageous lines of the entire movie – again, do not take your kids to see this movie.

There are some scenes that totally defy all laws of existence but one does have to just remember it is a movie about a stuffed teddy who smokes weed. And refreshingly nothing ever seems too too far-fetched and the humour never really becomes stale.

Seth MacFarlane has been a comic genius and has had hits with Family Guy, American Dad and the Cleveland Show. It would have been easy for Ted to have been an extended version of one of these shows but it breaks free of the mould.

The movie takes no prisoners making fun of our modern way of life and goes on to reference 9/11 in a way you have never heard before.

There will be a few moviegoers turned off by the Seth MacFarlane style of humour, but stick with it and you might come out of the movie in stitches.
