Wellington based Julie Lamb Band are bringing their music to Hamilton on August 19 at the Nivara Lounge.

Julie Lamb and her self-titled band have been together in their current form since 2012 and are performing three shows this weekend as part of the Ten Go Touring Tour.

The band will be performing songs from their most recent album Ordinary Days, which was released this year and has been nominated for the 2017 Vodafone Music Awards.

“Our style is a very Motown funk and 70s vibe, but in saying that, none of our songs sound the same,” Lamb said.

The band has 10 members and back up vocalist Miranda Turner says she can’t wait to get on stage with them.

“Being a part of the band has helped me understand so many different genres – when we perform we feed off each other and the energy of the audience,” Turner said.

The show at the Nivara Lounge will be the second stop on the tour and it marks the first time the band will perform in Hamilton.

“We’re definitely looking forward to performing in Hamilton,” Lamb said.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re playing in front of 30 people or 3000, the vibe is always there.”

The show kicks off at 8:30 pm and tickets can be bought through julielamb.co.nz or at the door the night of the show.
