Nature’s sparkling wonders: Our connection to the stars

Matariki – I can see the stars in your eyes! What would you ask them if you wondered aloud?

“I think Matariki isn’t just a teacher, I think it’s a whole movement towards thinking about the outside.”

Twinkle, Twinkle, little star. How I wonder what you are! Sound familiar?

Do we?

Do we really take enough time to wonder?

Our lives are very often consumed with this idea that conformity is something we all must adhere to. The world is a  constantly moving place. The society we live in doesn’t pay as much attention nowadays to the phrase “Sometimes we all need to take a minute to stop and smell the roses.”  How often do we do that? In the more literal sense and not figuratively speaking…

Standing outside, looking up.

What does that mean?

Forgetting about your to-do list with countless things to do.

Remembering to recognise your five senses.   What we see is the most important one in this instance.  Connection to the elements.  Earth, sky, water, fire, and air.

It’s all about grounding ourselves. After all, we were put on the ground weren’t we?

The stars of Matariki present to us a view of our world on a physical and spiritual level that we most often don’t recognise.

When we go outside what do we feel familiar with?

Are we more conditioned than we think?
