Caleb Thompson is a member of Full Sends Flat, a group of friends, self-proclaimed daredevils, and professional idiots who like to push boundaries. However, his passion for fiery stunts had sparked long before Full Sends Flat was formed.

Caleb loves pushing himself to the limits. In 2021, he graduated with a degree in outdoor education from Waikato Institute of Technology where he found his love for rock climbing and canoeing.

The same year, Caleb completed the 80km Hamilton challenge fundraiser for mental health awareness

“This was the hardest challenge but I couldn’t have done it without the support of friends and family around me.”

True to form on 18 September 2022, Caleb announced on Instagram his proposal to his girlfriend. This opened up a new chapter for the couple and gave Caleb an opportunity to demonstrate his creativity.

“Still doesn’t feel real”

“I proposed to this beautiful lady yesterday. And she said YES!!!”

A video shows Caleb being towed along on a couch by a car.

“The idea was to tie a mechanic slider to an old couch, but then the wheels fell off,”  says Caleb.

“A fella was holding the rope …then Isaac was holding the other end of the rope behind the car and we began driving off.

“Isaac’s advice was to hope for the best and hold on tight.”

The stunts sometimes annoy the next door neighbors.

“During lockdown, we set off a bunch of fireworks and that shook the neighbour’s house”

But Caleb and his friends make up now and again by giving their neighbour’s bread  “cause you got to show love sometimes.”

Caleb describes full sends and the store Kmart as a love-hate relationship.

“They love us…within five minutes they kicked us out.”

He dragged one of his friends along the floor and played a game of baseball in the middle of the store.

The Kmart staff kindly told them to leave afterwards.

Caleb recalls when the dryer was broken and they desperately needed to dry their clothes.

“In Hamilton, you can’t leave your clothes out or they get rained on or stolen,” says Caleb.

So they got together and with a bit of Kiwi innovation.

“We tied our clothes rack to the car and drove it down the road to dry the clothes.”

This video got social media coverage and grew a following on Instagram.

Caleb’s inspiration is made up as he goes and he’s often “winging it”.

What’s next for this crazy adventurer? The wedding.
