Everything is Awesome at The Hamilton Brick Show

The Hamilton Brick show has returned for another spectacular year, showcasing a range of intricate LEGO builds with varying themes for all to enjoy.

The event began in 2015 and has progressively attracted a larger audience with each show, causing venue changes to accommodate the growing number of people that attend.

On average, there are roughly 5,000 people that gather to appreciate the creativity and ingenuity of each LEGO display, often inspired to build their own sets to enjoy and interact with.

This year, the event organisers HamLUG (Hamilton Lego Users Group) arranged for 59 exhibitors to present their work, including the winners from Lego Master NZ season one, Glenn Knight and Jake Roos.

Another exciting addition to The Hamilton Brick show was the Waikato Kids Lego Masters Competition, giving children an opportunity to build their own creations and explore the world of LEGO. The winners from each age category will be earning a 100$ voucher from Toy World.

Alongside the voucher, the classroom that the winning children belong to will be rewarded with a Bricks Box. This will encourage schools to promote the event to their students and have further participation for future competitions.

Ilona Forshaw, president of the Hamilton Lego Users Group, explains that LEGO offers a broad range of activity for everybody, from the mathematical side of things found in STEM toys to the more imaginative story-telling aspects.

Though the Hamilton Brick Show is still a fairly recent attraction, there is no doubt that ‘brick-fanatics’ and people new to LEGO alike will continue to flock to the event, excited to see different pastures of creative endeavours.
