From the farm to the stage, Triggar Happy lives his Rock’n’roll dream

Otorohanga born Reggie Tucker aka Triggar Happy is releasing his new single ‘I Rock ‘n’ Roll’ today.
With two number one albums in Aotearoa and earning Impact Artist of the Year at the Independent Music Awards in 2025, the time is right for Triggar to release some new material.
A guitar driven rocker inspired by a bar fight in Tasmania, the song was recorded at Bigfan studios in Auckland with a 5-piece band that includes musician, producer and silver scroll winner Noema Te Hau on guitar and six60 drummer Damo Graham.
The song has a hard rock vibe with guitars at the forefront reminiscent of Thin Lizzy with Jimmy Barnes up front, a song made for music fans to shake, rattle and roll to.
A student of Otorohanga Primary School and Otorahanga College, Triggar is engaged to Sheree and has two children, Billy who is 3 years old today and daughter Claire who is 9 months.
Triggar has had a long career in farming both cattle and sheep and he and his family now live on a 10-acre block, south of Otorohanga where Triggar currently works in Horticulture and repairing farm bikes.
The invention of Triggar Happy was a response to a really low point in Triggar’s life when he felt he had lost everything. It gave him the strength to pull himself out of a dark place and in his words, “make me feel like a superhero.”
Playing live is an experience that Triggar Happy is passionate about and says he, “loves singing and the feeling of walking out on stage.”
A tour is planned for later this year and this song should wet rock ‘n’ roll fans appetites.
