Happy to Rock n Roll
When times got tough for Regan Tucker he became Triggar Happy.
The Ōtorohanga farmer adopted the stage name to add to his singing career to his resume. He went from being miserable about finances and relationships to “feeling like a superhero”.

Now, ahead of a planned tour, he has released a single – I Rock’n’ Roll which is a follow up to two number one albums in Aotearoa/NZ. The former Ōtorohanga Primary and College student is engaged to Sheree and has two children, Billy, three, and nine month old Claire.
The family live on a 4.5ha block south of Ōtorohanga where he works in horticulture and repairing farm bikes.
The new single was inspired by a bar fight in Tasmania, Rock n Roll being an analogy for Triggar’s fighting skills.
Recorded at Bigfan studios in Auckland with a five piece band that included musician, producer and silver scroll winner Noema Te Hau on guitar and six60 drummer Damo Graham. The song has a hard rock vibe with guitars at the forefront, reminiscent of Thin Lizzy and Jimmy Barnes.

Tucker was working on a farm in Tasmania when he became involved in brawl involving most of the patrons, including most of the Delaraine Australian Football League team in the Bush Inn, Tasmania’s oldest pub in the Derwent Valley.
“There were chairs and glasses flying, but the worst punch of the night was a woman who swung her handbag over 10 blokes, she must have had a brick in it!”
Tucker, who had 19 years of Tae Kwon Do experience, recalled his rival was keen on “round two” at a later date – but when they came face to face it ended amicably and the pair became friends.
“He’s still a friend of mine to this day.”
