Aldous Harding’s first headline tour since 2023 kicks off in Kirikiriroa
Aldous Harding is heading back to Aoteoroa for the upcoming tour of her latest album, Train On The Island
The four-date tour takes place at the end of November and marks the first headline shows for Harding since 2023.
Harding will be supported by Aotearoa group, Womb. The trio members are siblings Cello Forrester, Haz Forrester and Georgette Brown, who have a sound described as “immersive, dream-pop”.
Train On The Island is Harding’s fifth studio album, and was released in May this year.
Harding has been touring through the UK, Europe and North America ahead of her return to New Zealand. The tour launches in Kirikiroa on Wednesday November 25 at the BNZ Theatre before moving to Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland.
The 10-track album was released in May with a couple of early singles ‘One Stop’ and Venus in the Zinnia garnering positive comments for her originality and lyrical skill. One comment reflecting the many positive responses was “utterly original. Utterly brilliant. A breath of fresh air in a swamp of monotonous copies”.

The album, via Flying Nun Records, was co-produced by long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales. This is the same venue the pair recorded Harding’s previous work, Party (2017), Designer (2019) and Warm Chris (2022).
The musicians included pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llywelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear) and Huw Evans (H. Hawkline) on bass, vocals, acoustic/electric guitar and organ.
Womb have been developing their sound since the 2010s and present a mix of recording, performance and art. They officially came together as a band in 2015 and have since released a steady stream of work, including Like Splitting the Head from the Body (2018), Holding a Flame EP (2021), Dreaming of the Future Again (2022). Their most recent album, One Is Always Heading Somewhere (2025), released via Flying Nun Records.
The band has earned an APRA Silver Scroll nomination for ‘Only You’ and saw One Is Always Heading Somewhere land at #18 in Rolling Stone’s Best New Zealand Albums of 2025.
