Students for Sustainability

Guide to Sustainable Fashion, made by a group of third year Comms students.

How much do you know about sustainable fashion? Well, whether you are an expert or have no clue, a group of students in their final year of study ran a campaign to help promote what sustainable fashion is and how easy it is to be sustainable with your clothing.

The five students, Ethan Bennett, Kae Evans, Anna Powell, Lachlan Douglas, and Emmalea Taylor, have been spending their final semester at Wintec working together to create and run their campaign.

The campaign consisted of creating and printing a booklet about sustainable fashion which they then distributed to some of the local Op-shops around Kirikiriroa Hamilton, and making an Instagram page where they have been uploading content regularly.

β€œIt was great to work on a project with fellow Wintec students that focused on giving back to the community. It was awesome to see everyone use their different skills to create the final product.” Kae mentioned when asked how they felt about the overall project and their experiences.

The students were able to combine their different skills and interests to create the project, from video editing, photography, writing, design and many more inputs. This project is something the students are able to add to their list of achievements that they have built over the years.
