Tusega ripping up the field at his first AIMS Games
Otahuhu Intermediate School winger Jonathan Tusega says he’ll return to school after the Zespri AIMS Games with a suite of flash new rugby skills.
The Auckland eleven-year-old played Rip Rugby at AIMS and hopes he can play the sport for his school in the future.
Jonathan says “the best thing about this game is you get to enjoy your time with your friends, and you enjoy playing with other schools.”
The annual Zespri AIMS Games are held in early September in Tauranga Moana, New Zealand. The week-long tournament attracts as many competitors as the Olympics and more than 23,400 visitors travel from outside the Bay of Plenty
Otahuhu Intermediate School competed in three codes: Netball, Rip Rugby, Rugby 7s (boys), and Rugby 7s (girls).
