Love the Centre Awards Reveal Unique “Under Construction” Venue

Decorating a crane is one of the options on the design brief for this year’s Love The Centre CBD awards.

The Pullman Hotel development has been selected as this year’s unconventional awards venue, continuing a tradition that started in 2017 with the then-unfinished Riverbank Lane.

The awards are held annually at different and interesting locations around the city, including the Hamilton Hotel, K’Aute Pasifika Fale and The Meteor Theatre.

Love the Centre General Manager, Vanessa Williams, said choosing a venue like The Pullman ‘adds to the flavour of things’ and provides something fresh for the event.

Williams is most looking forward to the reactions from her guests over the choice of venue.

”I love that moment when people walk in.”

Love the Centre have gained a reputation for showcasing new developments underway in the central city and said it gives people an opportunity for a “behind the scenes” look.

Williams says that the choice of venue for this year is important as it is an “impactful” build, located in Hamilton city’s tallest building.

“Being able to hold this in a building that transforms the skyline of the central city is very cool.”

As is traditional, the Love The Centre team are also applying their creativity to designing this year’s trophies, which will be revealed on the night.

The event will take place on October 21 and is sponsored by Spark Business and supported by Media Work, with MCs Stu and Camille from the Breeze.

The winners for the 2026 awards will be announced via a double page spread in both the Waikato Times, the Waikato Business News and announced on The Breeze.
