Top comedian Urzila Carlson brings new show to Hamilton
Urzila Carlson is returning to New Zealand with her latest show ‘Fatty On A Yacht, a relatable tale of not quite fitting the brief.
She’ll be performing at the BNZ Theatre in Kirikiriroa in February, after the tour was rescheduled from its original December dates.
The multi-award-winning Carlson is known for her deadpan, no-holds-barred style of performance.
The premise of Fatty on a Yacht is relatable, described as being for anyone who has ever tried to squeeze into a space, physical or social, and thought “This can’t be right!”
Like most of the South African-New Zealander’s comedy, it’s based on real life experiences. It’s about not fitting in, standing out, and laughing about it anyway.
“Ever felt like you don’t belong? Like everyone else got the memo – and you turned up in the wrong outfit, on the wrong day, on the wrong yacht?

Carlson has had a long and successful career in Aoteoroa, and significant success internationally. 2026 has been a buy year, writing and starring in her own self-titled TV show, Urzila, which has already been renewed for a second season, and competing in the Australian Taskmaster show.
She has also been touring with a sold-out UK and Ireland tour, including two sold-out shows at the iconic Palladium Theatre in London.
Fatty On a Yacht will be in Hamilton on February 19.
