Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari will benefit by almost $1000 from screenings of a 1990s film this month.
Te Awamutu’s Regent Theatre screened Mrs Doubtfire as a fundraising tribute to late Waipā mayor Alan Livingston, who listed it among his favourites.

Profits totaling $940 were donated to the sanctuary which Livingston, who died in April, was a supporter of.

Sanctuary Mountain named a kiwi chick, which has since been moved down to Wellington, “Big Al” in his honour.

Livingston served as Waipa mayor for 12 years to 2013 then chaired Waikato Regional Council for a term form 2016.
